Education:
Nothing is known of Levi Bailey’s education.
Migration:
Levi lived in Andover, Massachusetts until 1780, when he apparently moved to Hartland, Vermont. In 1785 or later, according to Charles Bailey, he moved to Windsor County where he and a George Butterly purchased land that became Bailey’s Mills after Levi became the sole owner.
Occupation:
Levi Bailey began working as a farmer but established a large milling operation at Reading, in Windsor County, Vermont. During the later part of his life he was a stock drover. From the fall of 1812 until 1833 he was engaged in the mercantile business.
